Time in Fairyland

In the realm of the fairies, time passes differently because they inhabit another dimension, with laws and measurements that are different from our own.  People who enter Fairyland usually believe that they have been there only a short while, but when they come back all that was familiar has long ago passed away, and no one remembers them any more.  Conversely, sometimes it may seem that days or years have been spent with the Fair Folk, yet it later transpires that the traveler has been gone only a few moments.

Time Crossovers...
The pace of time within this world and Fairyland may differ in a variety of ways, but nonetheless the worlds seem to interlock.

Dancers in fairy circles tend to be rescued after a year or a year and a day, while a month in Fairyland may equal a hundred years in the human world or an hour may equate to a day, or vice versa.

The seasons are very important and at transitional times in the seasonal round, the entrance to Fairyland may be open.  Certain times of the day are also significant ~ namely, dawn, dusk, midday, and midnight.

Time is something we struggle to understand in the ordinary world.  It has a mysterious quality and may appear to move either fast or slow.
Perhaps time itself is an illusion created by our mortality, from which the fairies can free us, now and again.

Find your place in time my friend
